Montrose Environmental Group, Inc. is headquartered in Irvine, California and has 26 offices and just shy of 1000 employees nationwide. This position is Full-time, with Benefits and Matching 401k.

 

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an Analyst who will perform in-lab analyses of environmental samples utilizing HPLC instrumentation. The scientist is responsible for the maintenance and operation of lab equipment and will identify and quantitate client samples following established laboratory procedures. Strong organizational skills are a must for this position.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Learn the technical aspects of operating their equipment
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Work with other analysts and senior laboratory staff to solve complex technical challenges.

 

This position has a wide range of duties associated with processing and analyzing samples including instrument calibration, standard and sample preparation, analysis and data processing and reporting.

 

These duties include the following:

  • Analyze environmental samples in accordance with published US EPA and custom laboratory methods
  • Prepare calibration standards and instrument calibration curves
  • Understand the purpose of the testing and conduct troubleshooting analysis
  • Maintain and update knowledge of instrumentation
  • Process project data packages for inclusion in client reports
  • Notebook upkeep and writing skills
  • Development and optimization analytical methods
  • React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
  • Comply with laboratory quality assurance plan and other policies

Qualifications

 

  • BA / BS Degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training) 
  • 2 years’ experience in an analytical chemistry environment; Chemstation and Chromeleon software experience is a plus
