Responsibilities

Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, a vibrant, young company started in 2012, now just shy of 1000 employees in approximately 40 offices around the country.  Our employees describe us as very fast, very flexible and lots of fun.

 

Enthalpy Analytical is comprised of over 8 laboratories servicing air, water, soil and tobacco testing. Regulations drive the need for our services but our unique capabilities allow us to add value (e.g., new streams of income) to clients beyond environmental compliance. For our families and communities, we strive to protect the air they breathe, the water they drink and the soil on which they live.

 

We are currently is looking for a Business Development Manager who will be based out of our Mt. Pleasant, MI location.  This individual will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

  • Assessment of marketing opportunities and target markets
  • Intelligence gathering on customers and competitors
  • Generating leads for possible sales
  • Advising on, drafting and enforcing sales policies and processes
  • Formal proposal and presentation management and writing
  • Assistance with company website and creating marketing materials
  • Increasing the Company’s sales of its services in areas consistent with management’s strategy
  • Serving as the main point of contact between Company customers and the Company
  • Preparing cost quotations
  • Delivering capabilities presentations
  • Making unsolicited marketing calls on prospective customers
  • Making marketing calls solicited by prospective customers
  • Attending tradeshows
  • Maintaining organized records of contact information
  • Communicating with the Company laboratory regarding customer needs and requests
  • Assist in field job planning and logistics with field analyst(s)
  • Supervise sample receipt and client communications via Enthalpy’s Order Acknowledgment Form protocol
  • Manage assignment and prioritization of reports to subcontracted report writers
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company

 

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Chemistry/Sciences, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years in customer service experience
  • Must have familiarity for most, if not all, of the assays performed at their laboratory 

Preferred Skills

  • Strong sales and marketing skills
  • Strong intrapersonal skills
  • General understanding of scientific concepts and processes
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
