  • Responsibilities

    The Senior Scientist is responsible for supporting technical analysis, research, reports and compliance audits under minimal supervision of a Project Manager and support in all aspects of air quality consulting, wastewater, storm water and hazardous materials management. This position requires some direct interaction with clients.

    • Research, analyze and interpret air quality regulations as they apply to client operations.
    • Prepare permit applications for a variety of commercial and industrial operations.
    • Research technical references and calculate emission inventories in support of permit applications, compliance demonstrations, and submittals to air quality agencies.
    • Complete permit application forms and coordinate submittal to client and agency.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
    • Track and report client compliance status.
    • Write and edit technical reports.
    • Monitor regulatory development programs and report status, goals and key components to staff and clients.
    • Prepare and deliver effective oral presentations.
    • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
    • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
    • Participate in company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
    • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to: data entry, report figures, etc.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies or other science from an accredited university
    • 1+ year of related work experience in the field
    • Intermediate understanding of air quality, storm water, wastewater and hazardous materials management
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
    • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Solid organization and time/project management skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
    • English language competency

      Preferred Skills

    • 3+ years of related work experience in the field.
    • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies or other science
