    Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 8 laboratories servicing air, water, soil and tobacco testing.  Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.  For our families and communities, we strive to protect the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the soil on which they live.  


    We are currently seeking an LC/MS Analyst for our tobacco, cigarette, and e-cigarette testing laboratory located in Richmond, VA.  The hourly range for this position is between $18-$25/hour, which will be commensurate with experience.



    • Quantitative sample analysis using LC/MS
    • Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports
    • Sample and standard preparation
    • Instrument calibration, validation, and method development
    • Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
    • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis, equipment maintenance and data collected off site
    • Maintain consumables and parts LC/MS instruments
    • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
    • Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner
    • Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company
    • Compliance with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
    • Compliance with Company’s Health and Safety Plan
    • Perform other duties as assigned


     Qualifications and Education Requirements


    • Associates degree or higher in Chemistry or related field (or equivalent training)
    • 1+ years of relevant experience (academic or professional)
    • Must be able to handle some non-routine samples or situations. 
    • Must be able to work on multiple batches with only minimal instruction from their supervisor
    • Must be able to routinely meet QA/QC requirements for the assays they perform, without supervision
    • Documentation, timeliness, and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory. 

     Preferred Qualifications and Skills

    • At least 2+ years of LC/MS experience
    • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
    • Well organized and have an attention to detail
    • Good communication skills
