    Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 8 laboratories servicing air, water, soil and tobacco testing.  Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.  For our families and communities, we strive to protect the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the soil on which they live.  

     

    We are currently looking for a part-time Purchasing Assistant for our Durham, NC lab to provide assistance in the procurement of laboratory goods and services.  The Purchasing Assistant supports other departments within the Durham lab, as circumstances require, as well as other laboratories within the ELS division.  The position interacts with vendor sales representatives, visitors, and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.  The hourly range for this position is between $20-$21/hour, which will be commensurate with experience.  

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Respond in a timely manner to requests for quotes and purchases
    • Enter data and generate purchase orders from within NetSuite (NS)
    • Proficiency at Item Entry in NS, exercising good judgment in assigning budget codes to entries
    • Willingness and ability to interact with vendors via telephone, email, and in person
    • Strong customer service skills in serving both internal and external customers
    • Operate with honesty and integrity when dealing with vendors and internal customers
    • Assist other staff with tasks and assignments as needed
    • Process shipments using UPS or FedEx
    • Protect confidentiality of all sensitive information or situations
    • Maintain neat and clean office environment
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associate's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google, and/or PC programs
    • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Solid organization and time management skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2 years of experience in a Purchasing-related role
    • Use of/familiarity with ERP software systems
    • Knowledge of NetSuite, strongly preferred
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
