    Nautilus Environmental, an Enthalpy Analytical company and subsidiary of Montrose Environmental Group, Inc., is currently seeking a part-time Data Analyst to join our San Diego team of aquatic toxicologists. Nautilus is a consulting laboratory focused on the analysis, integration, interpretation, validation and application of high-quality toxicity data. This position may require some overtime, weekend work, and holiday scheduling.  Compensation will be commensurate with experience. 


    The Data Analyst is primarily responsible for analysis of test data using a variety of different statistical programs.  The Data Analyst works with the project managers and other management to provide clients with high quality, legally defensible data and report deliverables.  The Data Analyst will also be asked to work with Quality Assurance (QA) to identify inconsistencies or potential flags in the data after it has been entered and analyzed.    Accuracy and a focus on quality is required as the individual selected for this position will be handling and entering large sets of data related to regulatory monitoring programs.

    The primary responsibilities for this position include:


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for identifying data sets or trends and identifying significant effects to samples.
    • Identify inconsistencies and potential flags in data that indicate issues with testing samples, (e.g. Toxicity)
    • Work with management and staff to address logistical requirements or other data related issues.
    • Communicates to all concerned parties about data issues, status updates, and ideas for system improvement
    • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of statistics, especially those most commonly applied to bioassay data.
    • Timely and accurate generation of Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs)
    • Keeps up to date on new templates and requirements for EDD submittal
    • May perform data QC and technical reporting duties with proper experience and training
    • Supports implementation of quality management systems and processes
    • Works with the Project Managers and other management for other related assignments and tasks.
    • May perform invoicing, data management, or other Netsuite related functions
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • High School Graduate or Equivalent
    • 1+ years previous data analysis or data management
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, or equivalent suite of programs.
    • Proficiency with 10-key.
    • Requires high organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Must have clear, effective, and professional verbal and written communication skills


    • Associates Degree or higher, preferably with a focus in statistics, biological or physical sciences.
    • Background knowledge in statistics and/or laboratory quality control/quality assurance practices is preferred.
    • Experience working with Netsuite
    • Experience working with databases or large datasets is desirable.
