    The Director, Client Services is responsible for overseeing leading project origination, client development and team operation activities for the Global Water Practice team. The role is primarily focused on client management with relationship-based marketing and taking an active role in project management and team operations. Also, the role is accountable for setting to-be-determined targets/goals and achieving desired metrics.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads client and project management tasks within the Global Water Practice team.
    • Focuses on Global Water Practice project origination and client development with relationship-based marketing.
    • Sources new opportunities and projects and works closely with internal teams to prepare proposals and work scopes that meet requirements; focuses on strategic areas/tracks for development within the team.
    • Assists team operations which includes, but is not limited to, marketing material preparation, active project staffing/management, and technical oversight.
    • Works collaboratively with other divisions and team leaders within Montrose to cross-sell and market services to clients across the firm.
    • Organizes and writes proposal documents for clients to describe proposed work scopes, estimated costs and project timelines; works collaboratively with internal team members to pull together the necessary information.
    • Evaluates RFQ/RFP documents and assists with the development of responses.
    • Assists with the development of comprehensive marketing materials/documentation, client presentations, complex project proposals, and attends industry conferences.
    • Oversees the training, mentoring and development of direct and/or indirect reports.
    • Manages direct and/or indirect reports and addresses employee performance and expectations as well as any employee concerns and escalates as needed.
    • Builds and maintains solid relationships across the organization at the executive, supervisory and staff levels.
    • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
    • Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs. 
    • Participates in Company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts. 
    • Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.  
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
    • 10+ years of experience in a client or project management-focused role 
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience
    • Professional Engineering Registration, preferably in California
    • Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40-hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class and annual 8-hour refresher class
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google and/or PC programs
    • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Solid organization and time/project management skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
    • English language competency
    • Willingness and ability to travel as needed

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
    • Demonstrated experience with managing water and/or wastewater projects in California
    • HAZWOPER certification
