    The Director, Client and Project Development is responsible for leading all project origination and client development activities for the West Coast Environmental Remediation teams. The role is primarily focused on sourcing and funneling new opportunities for the group, but will also assist with oversight of the team and project staffing. Also, the role is accountable for setting to-be-determined targets/goals and achieving desired metrics.


    • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of West Coast Environmental Remediation client development and project origination.
    • Leads all new business efforts for the West Coast Environmental Remediation teams; develop strategies for engaging new or existing clients through direct dialogue and/or presenting unique solutions and superior cost alternatives.
    • Leads the development and management of new and existing clients.
    • Sources new opportunities and projects and works closely with internal teams to prepare proposals and work scopes that meet requirements.
    • Assists team and project staffing, works closely with senior leadership to expand internal resources in order to keep pace with project growth.
    • Oversees all project origination and client development activities; focused effort on understanding client concerns and/or problems and working closely with internal team members to develop and present comprehensive, unique solutions.
    • Originates, sources and wins new work and revenue from both new and existing Montrose clients.
    • Organizes and writes proposal documents for clients to describe proposed work scopes, estimated costs and project timelines; work collaboratively with internal team members to pull together the necessary information.
    • Evaluates RFQ/RFP documents and assist with the development of responses.
    • Sets business goals, monitor work progress, and evaluates results to ensure that objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization.
    • Oversees the training, mentoring and development or direct and/or indirect reports.
    • Manages direct and/or indirect reports and addresses employee performance and expectations as well as any employee concerns and escalate as needed.
    • Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops; use new industry developments to proactively address future changes and/or potential downstream issues with clients.
    • Build and maintains solid relationships across the organization at the executive, supervisory and staff levels.
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
    • Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
    • Participate in Company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications


    • 10+ years of experience in a business development and leadership-focused role
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or related discipline from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Google and PC programs or equivalent
    • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Solid organization and time management skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
    • Willingness and ability to travel as needed   

    Preferred Qualifications


    • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline from an accredited university
    • Professional Engineering license and/or certification
